As a special treat, Bob Weissman, a retired research scientist who has been growing rhododendrons and azaleas in Mountain View for more than 40 years will present useful information about rhododendron cultivation, including soil preparation, planting, watering and feeding, pruning and transplanting. He will discuss the wide range of rhododendron varieties available for local gardens.
Bob has been a Santa Clara County Master Gardener volunteer since 2003. In addition, Bob is the webmaster for the American Rhododendron Society websites. For his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the Society, he was awarded the Society's Gold Medal, its highest honor.
