Our City Forest: Tie Dye Party at Urban Forestry Education Center

We are excited to invite you to our Tie-Dye Party!

About this event

We are excited to invite you to our Tie-Dye Party! Our morning will consist of a demo of how to tie-dye, followed by ample time for participants to make their creations and wrap them up to take home. You will be given care instructions on how to best wash and care for your new piece of art!

All dyeing materials will be provided, but please bring an item to dye. This can be the traditional t-shirt, but can also include other clothing like socks or hats, as well as homeware, like tea towels and pillowcases. Make sure the item is made of a natural material like cotton, otherwise, the dye will not penetrate the cloth.

Although we will have gloves available, please be aware that there is a possibility of staining your clothing or skin. For this reason please wear clothes that you do not mind staining or that are black. If staining of your skin does occur, it will come out of your skin within a week, and there are no long-term negative health effects.

After the event, you will be welcome to stay in our native garden and arboretum, as well as learn more about Our City Forest and our mission to plant and care for urban trees.

See you there!
