Date: September 17, 2022

Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Contact: UC Master Gardeners

Sponsor: UC Master Gardeners, Santa Clara County, CA

Location: Master Gardeners Project at Martial Cottle Park in our Pavilion

Event Details: Would you like a colorful and carefree Wildflower area in your garden next Spring? Have we got a deal for you! Come join us on Saturday, September 17th to learn about growing native wildflowers in your yard and to pick up some wildflower seeds to get your garden started. Wildflowers are hardy, beautiful, and low-water use plants, often reseed and provide pollen and nectar for our local pollinators.

The talk will last about an hour, with a half-hour afterwards for questions and seed exchange. You will get some seeds to take home to start your wildflower garden.

Feel free to bring your saved wildflower seeds to share if you have them; but bringing seeds is not required to participate in the seed exchange.

Presenter(s): UC Master Gardeners Nalayini Gunanayagam, Ann Finney and Allie Judy

Registration: None

Cost: Free

Participants should wear closed-toed shoes, layered clothing and a hat, as the class is held outside in our Pavilion. A refillable water bottle, notebook and writing implements are recommended. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and sign in.

Note: the park charges $6.00 for parking, or park closer to our area on Chynoweth Avenue near Vauxhall Circle for free.
