UC Master Gardeners: Why You Need Flowers in the Vegetable Garden: Pollination and Pest Management - Palo Alto

Date: June 4, 2022

Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Contact: UC Master Gardeners

Sponsor: UC Master Gardeners, Santa Clara County, CA

Location: Palo Alto Demonstration Garden

Details: Flowers brighten our food gardens, add color to our summer salads, and attract pollinators—and they do much more! Master gardeners will explain the important role flowers play in feeding the insects that help to control vegetable pests. Learn what type of flowers are the best to grow among your edibles to attract “natural enemies” of aphids, stinkbugs, and other insect pests. With luck, you will get to see some of these garden helpers enjoying the flowers we have planted for them.
