Location: Palo Alto Demonstration Garden
While we are still enjoying the bounty of the summer vegetable garden, it is time to start thinking about preparations for the long, productive cool season ahead.
Master Gardener volunteers will demonstrate how to: clean up vegetable beds and prepare them for replanting; make an easy slow compost pile from spent plants; decide whether to discard, reuse, or dig in mulch; and grow your own cool season veggie seedlings. Join us for this hands-on workshop and go home with a six-pack of seeded chard, beets, lettuce, or kale. Participants are welcome to bring samples from their summer vegetable gardens of plant problems and/or insects (well contained!) for diagnosis/identification.
