ONLINE Part 2 of 3 - Less Work- More Food: Making a Productive Cool Season Vegetable Garden

Growing food year round is easy in our part of California. Salad and cooking greens, root vegetables, and the magnificent broccoli family grow best in our mild winter, with rain for irrigation, and fewer weeds and pests. This three-part series will teach you how to get a quick start and a long harvest of a wide variety of cool season vegetables. Pre-registration is required. Please register separately for all three parts. Part 2 of 3: Preparing your garden beds or containers for the new season including clean up, soil preparation, fertilizer needs, and irrigation plans; planting techniques including direct seeding, transplanting, proper spacing, and thinning; using plant supports; and protecting plants from weather and pests.
