How I Succeeded With Native Annual Wildflowers - San Jose

  • 5283 Snell Avenue San Jose, CA, 95136 United States (map)

With a little patch of dirt, a little planning, and a lot of grit, you can grow native annual California wildflowers. This talk will cover site selection and preparation, seed sources, when and how to sow seeds, care for germinating seedlings, what to expect from your wildflower patch over the course of the Spring and Summer, and a little about self-seeding and seed saving. Give it a try! You and the birds and insects will enjoy a beautiful and changing show from April to August.

Participants should wear closed-toed shoes, layered clothing, and a hat, as the class is held outdoors. A refillable water bottle, notebook and writing implements are recommended.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and sign in. Please note: the park charges $6.00 for parking, or park closer to our area on Chynoweth Avenue near Vauxhall Circle for free.
