Creating a Habitat Garden - San Jose

  • Martial Cottle Park, UC Master Gardener Parcel in the Teaching Pavilion 5283 Snell Avenue San Jose, CA, 95136 United States (map)

Would you like to invite more native wildlife into your garden? Come join us for a talk about Habitat Gardening, where we will explain the benefits of creating a habitat garden, and how to get started creating your own habitat garden. We will discuss what elements make up a habitat garden and which plants work best in our area. After the talk, we will tour our habitat garden to give you ideas for your own garden.

Participants should wear closed-toed shoes, layered clothing, and a hat, as the class will be held outdoors in our Pavilion and in the garden. A refillable water bottle, notebook and writing implements are recommended. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and sign in. Please note: the park charges $6.00 for parking, or you can park on Chynoweth Avenue near Vauxhall Circle for free.
