Have you taken out your lawn and don’t quite know what to do next? Tired of mowing and fertilizing?  

Many lawn alternatives use 50 to 60 percent less water than a traditional lawn but can still provide you with that spot of green. UC Master Gardener Martha Carpenter will show you examples of some of replacement grasses and ground covers and discuss how you might use of them in your yard. Sun, shade, and water requirements will be discussed as well as irrigation.

After the talk we will have an informal seed and plant exchange so if you have anyextra seeds you’ve saved or plants you’d like to send to a good home do bring them.
